ATF Texled M43

Post by Panzer Wittman »

Recieved my new toy today and thought i'd give a quick review for anyone else who's thinking of investing.

The texled range from at the front are claimed to be the finest repros available, with custom matched wool, original tapes and parts where possible.

The cap arrived well boxed, with no excess size or weight to bump up the costs. The postage is USPS express international, still pricey but a lot cheaper than the options offered by the likes of Hessen Antique, and at least it's tracked and arrives. Plus, as a first for me it didn't incur import tax. Yeah there's been a lot of debate on the tax issue on here before and normally it stings me. Can't say why it didn't this time.

The cap is superb and personally the best I have seen or had in hand. The expense of the wool is clearly evident, as is the complete attention to detail. And, for a nice change, the size is what it says it is - non of the cheaper 'one size fits three' malarky. I'd recommend these to anyone. Ok, three times the price of some asian ones and once postage (and possible tax) is paid, twice some decent european ones, but you get what you pay for and IMHO these are worth every penny.

I've got the single button variant. Completely agree, worth every penny, as with every texled/in house made item ive had from ATF. Anyone that's seen my posts with regards to ATF stuff, will know I'm a bit of a fan.

A note on their shipping - I've never had an order ship at the shipping price quoted on the shopping cart. It's always come down, even on heavy orders. Rollin also catagorically states they won't mark down parcel values to knock down import taxes. He does. But don't ask him to. My first couple of orders came through at full price, but my more recent ones have been marked down considerably(one was a third of its true value, saving me circa £100 in taxes!). Looks as if if you're a good customer and you've proved yourself not to be a bell-end, they may well do it off their own back.

I did notice that. This was labelled as total value of goods as $25!! If he's 'accidentally' mislabelled them - good work fella! I'm converted. I already love this cap and can't wait to get it worn in
