Kharkov parkas, opinions please

We're going to be having a Battle of Kharkov event here in SA, during May month near Bloemfontein and it does actually get very cold ( temperature drops below zero degrees celsius) and I was thinking of buying a Kharkov parka.

Thus far, I've found two places selling them.

So, what I want is your opinion on which of these two are better? The one from Barry is much cheaper, though I've seen his horrible handiwork in the past, so I'm hesitant to order from him. I also suspect that the SoF one might be better ( maybe made by SMW? )

SMW have also been producing these lately...

I wouldn't be surprised if SoF are selling Barry Lyndon's at an increased price. That said, haven't seen them in the flesh to say for sure.

The Parkas in SoF web page are the SM Wholesale ones and they are simply the best Parkas on the market. I have been using one for three years now, and training in Finland with the Michael Gaissmair Kameraden I have endured temperatures of -37 Celsius with no problem.

Just got my SM Wholesale made parka ( kudos to SoF for the fast shipping) and I must say it is indeed an excellent parka.

Here's a couple of pics I took of the tunic:

First thing I noticed is the very big hood, more than enough space to wear a helmet underneath.



The lining is made of REAL rabbit fur

And it lines the entire body of the parka, except for the arms.



The the inner sleeve of both arms are kept wind tight by being elasticated



The lower pockets are also lined with fur



The internal tightening cord for the waist

Don't be surprised if you need to take it off because it is TOO warm! In zero degree weather a greatcoat is normally just fine.

It will be fine by -10-15 degrees Celsius. Otherwise it's to damn hot as Sheikh Al Stranghi says Real rabbit fur huh? Nice nice!
