Yes, the fact that Poland and France were very short campaings helped to keep the soldiers in following the regulations.Sheikh Al Stranghi wrote:Well, typical for regulations. The fact that they often moved it to the gas canister was strictly forbidden throughout the war! The reason why you tend to see gas capes being worn on the canister, once in the field, is that it gets in the way.

Have a look at this oakleaf B smock on fleabay from a US company called Trident,
apparantly they "roller print" the material (item no: 370109657284), looks very much
like SMW print ???
Tried to upload a pic but keeps saying "board attachment quota reached

That is an Oak A smock, Oak A smocks are quite rare (loads of Oak A zelts) i would suggest do a bit more research on the SS camo patterns so you can see the difference and you will then be able to find what is best for the unit you portray from original books? just a thought

It's more likely Belgium or Holland may 1940 and he isn't wearing drillich! He's wearing the wool M40 jacket without collartabs.
Re: SM Wholesale bringing back plane tree!
The French company "Paratrooper FR in Normandy" have a planetree smock at £149 euro,

That is the early VT pattern made into a type 2 smock.
I'd say it was SMW.

Yes it is SMW, this pattern is the old plane tree from about 7 yrs ago, its obvious by the green being so light

Pic 2 is differant to pic 1 - looks like the colours of the cheap 3/4 rather than the Early SM 3/4 in pic 1.
Judging by the large amount of tat that they also sell - I'd want to phone and have them gaurantee that your getting whats in pic 1 before sending payment.

Re: SM Wholesale bringing back plane tree!
Just a query on buying items from SMW from his ebay shop and having them delivered to the UK.
Iam waiting for an item but had an invoice from Parcel force saying i owe import VAT and a
clearance fee before they release my item ??
Is this normal/has anybody else had this when buying from SMW into the UK ??
Only i was under the impression that SMW already add VAT to their prices already??
(read small print on their ebay page)
Just wondering if parcel force are pulling a fast one
Cheers guys, Pipes
