I have a 6x30 made by Hensoldt that is marked with POL.DIENSTGLAS instead of DIENSTGLAS. Otherewise it is a standard 6x30. Were these made post WW2? Who used it??

Does it have any acceptance markings?

It has no acceptance markings. I have only one 6x30 with such markings and it is from the small batch made by Zeiss that has Waa markings. It looks like an ordinary uncoated early war 6x30 except for the "pol" in front of dienstglas.

Most police issued binos I've seen have a polizei specific acceptance mark on them, but I've not seen them with the 'pol' marking. Might be better to defer to optics specialists on the WAF of AHF.

Here are two pictures of it. And you are right. It has a police eagle at the leather cover. I am not aware of the other forums??

Kind regards

The other forums: AHF - Axis History Forum; WAF - Wehrmacht Awards Forum.

I can't quite make out the acceptance stamp.

Thanks for the forums. I have seen WAF but those cretins seems to be either slower than turtle with artrites or to have some sick belief I would pay for the privelige to make postings, lol. Which is not going to happen.
I will take a look on the other forum.

The stamp on the cover is a police eagle. It is not as crisp as the stamp on a 1941 Luger holster I have but it is definitely a police eagle. You mention that you have seen other binoculars with police markings. Please do enlighten me.

Kind regards

The only polizei acceptance stamp I've ever seen on leather goods is the one below.

Here are the two original samples I have. I am quite sure the cover is genuine. The p08 holster I did not pay anything extra for. I just picked one that was very goodlooking. And I got it before all these fakes became common. At a time when the prices were a bit less insane you might say, he he.
