Feldgendarmerie signs?

Post by Krupp »

I was wondering if anyone had some pictures of the signs they have for their camps. I've been making a couple of new signs for our unit and am having a hard time finding period FG signs using google. Any help is greatly appreciated.

From looking at photos, most seem to have a unit designation sign or FpNr at the very least. I would assume that as the Geldgendarmerie were responsible for issuing certain types of pass etc. and as they were specifically assigned to certain divisions, they had to be readily identifiable which does fly in the face of tactical awareness, however this seems to be something common with Allied MP units as well.

A few of the other signs I have in photos are merely the word 'Feldgendarmerie' and the divisional tactical symbol.

This is the first sign I completed today for the unit. How does it look Dave? Pretty simple I guess. It's made from an old skid-top piece and the holes you see are from the old nails that were there. I thought it would add character and since back in the day, resources were limited, what the heck. The other out of place things on it are from where there use to be branches when this piece of wood use to be part of a tree. LOL!!!

Does what it says on the tin.

This is the one we use (under my tunic and belt!):

Note how everyone else watches whilst I dig...!

You can also see the 'Feldgen. Posten' sign in the background on the tent.

Here is my other sign, finally finished. I'll think about making a Feldgend Posten sign next but some "Where To" signs are priority as far as projects on the winter list.
