Has any of you fine people got a picture or two of the traffic wand that was used by the FG in ww2 , a good close up picture if possible .
Would be good to see that and a repro one to see whats the difference , also would you have the dimentions of said item .
We have a very good wood craftsman in our workplace and i have an idea

Here's an original (apologies for the poor quality). No one makes decent repros of these, but you can pick up post war ones which are identical (just need to sand the NSN off the shaft) Avoid anything with a police eagle, any words on (halt/polizei) or with red and green on reverse sides - they are fantasy items. I'll get the dimensions for you.

I see this photo around the internet and I might actually own this wand now. I bought it unknowingly from Mike Dunn who had a pretty good website about FGs years back before he got out of reenacting. I bought a couple crates from him with all sorts of odds and ends to include a wand that looks just about the same as the one pictured above. I could be wrong, but I'll have to get out and see. Anyhow, I can take measurements and take some closer photos if anyone is still interested.

Closer inspection shows that this is not the same one, but I took photo anyhow for anybody who is interested.

You can also use the Bundeswehr Winkerkelle:

Yes a very good base to convert into a ww2 Winkerkelle , just change the colours around , white outer red inner .

I have an original somewhere I think. The round part is hinged with a lock and can be folded. I have no idea why?? Found it in a bunker when I was a kid.
