OK, for Gendarmerie: the waffenfarbe was orange; uniform colour was the 'grünmelliert', even on the post 1942 neuer art tunics; leather belt etc. were brown. The cuffs, collar and band on the schirmützen were light brown until 03.IX.42 and then they used the dark brown the same as the Schupo.
What rank are you aiming for? The ranks between Wachtmeiseter and Hauptwachtmeister tend to be the easier ones to find viz a viz shoulderboards.
The sleeve eagle should be orange (same as Feldgendarmerie, but on grünmelliert wool rather than feldgrau). After 10.XI.41, the town name was to be removed from the eagles.
You'll also need a police bayonet and pistol - the pistol was most commonly a P08 or P38 for the Gendarmerie. The police holsters were different from the army style in shape. They were also worn on the right side of the belt, rather than the left. Handcuffs were sometimes carried in a belt pouch, along with a baton either through a purpose made holster, or on a hook on the left rear.
Heh - maybe we should form a civilian police group!!

Sounds good to me Dave i know Mike Hector already has something.
Ranks not really sure could do with a run down of Police and SS/Heere equivelents mate.
Did they not use the PPK ? new about the right side for holsters but not that there was a different style mate do you have a picture ? please.
Looked at some dress bayonets at Belters but since had bought the Shako over £300 was to much.

Ranks. Easiest way to explain:
The police holsters were more tapered at the barrel end, and the spare magazine pouch was on the side, rather than the front.

The police is very complex for ranks etc, as it changes around a bit. The Gendarmerie and the Schupo are reasonably straightforwards, however.
