Police stuff

Post by Crazy Feldgendarme »

Does anyone know of suppliers for Police Tunics, shoulderboards and collar patches. Not bothered if repro or real for the badges.

Rural Gendarmerie is what i am after.

Thanks (hopefully). :D

eBay and the German militaria dealers carry the boards and litzen. The gendarmerie M43 style litzen are on militaria-net's website, incorrectly listed as Feldgendarmerie ones. You should be able to get original boards and litzen for around £130-170. Sewn in boards are more common, so the slide in type tend to be a little more expensive. If you are going for the earlier style, make sure you get the right ones for the right rank!

No one repros tunics at the moment - I have a Schupo one made from a Swiss tunic (the wool is very close in colour). No repro tshakos either, at the moment.

I have several original tunics, but none fit me and I'm not getting them out at events!

No problems. If you need a hand with the police uniform, drop me a line. I can dig out some info.

Very kind Dave will ask once i start to source the bits, already got the Shako, Brown belt and Holster is no problem, can strip the colour of a black cross belt and recolour it.
Brown boots suitable may be a problem, never seen any, as you say shoulder boards and collar tabs not really any trouble but will cost a lot (just a case of finding someone who has them) hopefully Detling.

Any useful suggestions welcomed mate.
