Rather than plod through old posts and I gather it's bad form to resurect old threads...
I have read both Chain Dogs books and all three Osprey WWII German Police books time and agiain, but there is little in depth information noted on the FJ. They are always depicted as Heer NCO's, so my question is were they ever SS NCO's?
90% of the pictures of FG I have seen show them only wearing pistol belts and a sidearm with a winkerkellie in hand, stuck in the belt or even into the top of a boot. All literature indicates that all the rest of the gear was left in the car, truck or motorcyce. Knowing the iron clad rule of keeping one's gask mask at hand, I am wondering why I never see it worn in FG photographs. [shrug]
