GFP Impression

Post by Axisloyal »

Dear Gentlemen,

i plan for a public event a GFP Impression, but this stuff is hard to find. Shoulder Boards, correct Collar Tabs and a Visor Cap.
So it would be nice if anyone can help where i can find this. May be its easier to find stuff for a NCO rank?

Visor cap - you need a Heeresbeamten type. James Brown at Extra Klasse can get these for you.
Boards - repros do occasionally appear on eBay, you need the green waffenfarbe with blue/grey nebenfarbe.
Collar tabs - again, repro ones do pop up occasionally. For officers you need blue/grey waffenfarbe with the same coloured Russian braid on the top, rear and bottom edges.
Cyphers - I have some repro ones, PM me if you want some.
Cuff title - matter of debate as to whether it was worn. I've now removed it as I can't prove it was.

NCOs - these were usually seconded Feldgendarmen, the only insignia was the addition of GFP cyphers:

I do a GFP impression as well:

The awards etc. are based on an original photo.

Have a look HERE for more details.

Hi Andy.
Collar tabs and shoulder boards for both HEER and LUFTWAFFE are available from Miss Militaria (ebay) if the are not in stock they can be made. I am waiting on arrival for the HEER version which should be in my hands this weekend.
James Brown will get the cap(s) made for you for germany. Allow a minimum of 6 weeks.
GFP cyphers are availabe from James Brown, Miss M and SOF.
there are two versions "silver" and guilt.
From the book i have obtained UNIFORM-EFFEKTEN 1939-1945 ISBN 978-3-613-03020-6 about £25 it shows all the ranks up to General for Heer and OBERFELDPOLIZEIDIREKTOR (Obst Ltn) for Luftwaffe). This is the highest rank in the luftwaffe.
The guilt are used on ALL ranks except General which have the "silver" version.
I already have an impression for the OBERFELDPOLIZEIDIREKTOR , the Heer version will be of a lower rank and early war.
All of the collar tabs and shoulder boards are in colour in UNIFORM-EFFEKTEN 1939-1945
Also see Osprey men at arms german military police i think the number is 213. ( cant find at the moment). There are some serious mistakes in the book!!!!!!!

Opinions on these?

He has all the insignia for the impression on his website.

If the waffenfarbe is dark green, then they look good. The nebenfarbe is very close to my originals (allowing for their age).

Looks black at first glance but the top of the right hand one seems to have a green cast to it....... Looking good though.
