I forgot to ask.... what exactly does the (mot) stand for? Motorized??? Not sure if that would be the same in German, but it's all I can think of. Thanks for the help.

Interesting. That reminds me of a cuff title I saw: http://www.landser.com/Motorisierte_Gendarmerie.aspx

I have never seen this one until today while pricing insignia. What is this as opposed to the regular FG title? Strictly a traffic cop perhaps??? Fantasy piece??

They did exist, issued from June 30th 1937 to the Gendarmerie when it's stength was increased. They were absorbed into the Wehrmacht on a company level, but the cuff titles never saw much use on military uniforms. The Motorisierte Gendarmerieberitschaften continued in existence until the end of the war as part of the civil police system.
