replica firearms now illegal in South Australia

Post by barcid »

a sad day in SA , ive had to surrender MY replica MP40 & PO8 as they are now bad things . I have made an application to our FireArms Branch to have a variation made to my F/A licence to have them returned & to be able to use them for reenacting . But We wait......... penalty for holding such toys now without a licence variation granted to do so... is a MAX 15 YEARS Prison sentence or $75000 AUD .or both... NICE  http://redirectingat.com/?id=593X1004&u ... id%3D49041

Sorry to hear that. Catalyst was probably back in Feb with the replica AK47 being sold in SA

Replica SMG's and MG's have been licenceable in Queensland since the 1990's. Replica handguns aren't required to be licenced, but its an offence to possess one in public (causing fear and alarm).

Yep . would appear that without a class H handgun Lic. you wont be able to hold handgun replicas .

replica self loading rifles need class D lic. " very hard to get unless your a farmer :?

& MP's , SMG's, Lmg's are not permitted as they are prohibited firearms here replica or not ,

whats next My roman Pila , scutum shield ,greek spear , Shield & swords  .

soon no more reenacting of any period

Looks like it .....
Mr Atkinson said the new laws intended to prevent knife crime."Taking dangerous weapons out of the hands of potential criminals has tremendous benefits for community safety," he said.
