Re: Weapons "out of place"

Here's a pic of a Para using a Berretta, i would imagine this pic was taken in Italy but as far as ive read it was not uncommon for soldiers to keep unauthorized/captured weapons and take them with them to other conflicts/campaigns, for instance i read about one German Tankman who took a captured R...

Re: "Hand in pockets"

Researching about these superfluous details in such level is just being too meticulous

Re: "Hand in pockets"

I guess this is related to the fact that you sometimes see peopl complaining about reenactors having hands in their pockets It is not so uncommon after all ;) Hands in pockets? Blame those guys :P Yes, that is what I was refering to, some people claim that the "correct" "default"...

Re: "Hand in pockets"

Of course I'm not saying this was ONLY done when it was cold, it has nothing to do with it

Re: Ratio of Heer / Waffen SS

Next question = Why is there so many SS reenactors?? lol, i was waiting for that one lmao I guess many people find elite units cool stuff to reenact, but it's not only with axis units For example: With all the 101 airborne reenactors in the world the division would get 20 times it's real strength, ...

Re: How to make a Pak 36

True, it was not very powerful against medium tanks and was quickly phased out in favour of better guns, but I recall seeing it still being used in original wartime pics, some even dated 1944, an AT gun is an AT gun after all It is a good support gun and easy to manoever Several of these obsolete gu...

Re: Zeltbahn or smock?

Yes, 914 GR is my "default" impression (for Normandy events), so I'll go for the zeltbahn

Re: Zeltbahn or smock?

I got both, so not a problem, I just want to be as authentic as possible
For example I saw those smocks being used in Warsaw suburbs in 1944, and some other places, but there are not many pics of them being worn

Zeltbahn or smock?

I think I read somewhere that in the wehrmacht smocks (in splitter pattern or swamp pattern) where mostly issued to panzergrenadiers, snipers,...and so on, the rest of the regular infantry troops only had their zeltbhans as camouflage garments
Is it correct?
