Re: Stitch dyeing
I still don't see anything wrong with having white stitching. On all of my original leather equipment, belts included, the stitching is still white. Some stitching is darker than others, but it's not been dyed. I don't know why one would see the need to color it in any way.

Re: Who would use the StG-44?
A lot of Volksgrenadier units were issued STGs later in the war. Heer troops were some of the first to test the weapon in April of '43. SturmGewehr Soldier, talking about the holocaust in your first post wasn't the brightest move. Not to be harsh, but you do show a lack of knowledge of what really h...

Re: Shirt for my SS load out
That shirt isn't the greatest. The shoulder board buttons and loops aren't really right, and neither is the material. Like Mr. Köhler said, get yourself a proper field grey trikot/rayon shirt.

Re: SS and which camo and Zelt
Plane tree was by far the predominant pattern used throughout the war. If you can find either a current or old SMW smock, you'll be set. The Chinese stuff is close, but it's still not great yet.

I know they put that on the airsoft guns, so it may be a lower from an airsoft mp40.

Re: Show us you!
Just my opinion, but if you're going for Normandy time period, you might rethink your weapon choice. Were STGs seen in Normandy? Yes, but a very, very small amount were issued, so they were as rare as hen's teeth in the West. A rifle or MP would be the preferred choice IMO. Aside from that and the m...

Nobody has brought up the use of pigskin as well. They did use that too, early and late in the war.

Konzert-Meister,
I love that you have your pockets bulging with "stuff." That is one thing often overlooked by reenactors that you see in original photos. Most reenactor's pockets and breadbag look like a eunuch nutsack. Well done, you impression looks good.

That's what made Unsere Mütter, Unsere Väter so good. Normal Heer infantry. No elite, SS or specialty troops.Friedrich Köhler wrote:Why this obsession with the Waffen SS in movies? Can't the for once use some regular Heer or LW felddivison?
