Why are events Normandy based why not early war? Could it be down to interest? Interesting thread. Speaking for Soviet it's a bi...

The FG is carrying a Mosin, for the anoraks amongst us (and, yes, I am one  ) you can tell from the woodwork. This is another thing that's struck me about reenactors out East - if it's a public blat they really dont seem to care what they are carrying so long as it goes bang. I've recently fou...

We got an approach the other week from a production company.

The moment I said 'how much?' - and I'd have been prepared to negotiate - they said 'we'll discuss it with the finance guys and get back to you'.

I'm still waiting to hear...

You waste your time & bandwidth talking to people like that. Two things... 1. They've read maybe one book on the subject and suddenly they're the expert. 2. They know that their hobby is geeky (I've been a wargamer longer than I've been a reenactor - all these hobbies are related and, yes, they ...

There is farby* stuff goes on (just like reenactors the world over I guess  ), judging by the pictures, especially with the vehicles - I've never so many OT810s with just a paint job in my life! - but there look to be several groups with a good personal 'scale of issue', as us Reds say :D . An...

Not WW2 but some positive coverage of the hobby...

And, given what they say, I couldn't not post both, even though they link to each other.

He says that the pictures were given to him (lit; 'came into his hands')and are allegedly of vehicles from a museum's store in France. They are a few years old and he would be interested to hear if anyone knows what happened to the vehicles as he feels quite sorry for them.

Jon - it's http://www.tridentmilitary.com

Check out Antonio Munoz's books first though I'm not 100% sure but I think some of his repro insignia come from that dodgy Signal article.

Yeah, saw this was a couple of years ago some 'legitimate businessman' pocketed a nice wedge for organising that travesty. The Russian reenactor community weren't too happy about it as they could have done loads better for a fraction of the price but, I guess, one of Vlad's cronies wouldn't h...
