Re: Gun identification
Hey fellas, I wondered if anyone was good at tracking down rifle information. Here's what I have on mine: Model K98k, Mauser Year Produced: 1938 Manufacturer: Mauser-Werke AG (stamping of 243) Serial Number: 8316 History: Russian capture. Bolt sawed down for what seems to be a sniper mount. Above t...

If anyone has any info or pictures th...

Re: generic litzen ?
Gentlman,I might point out that older litzen or uniforms where not withdrawn per,se they were used until current inventory was used up and newer typs intriduced, picturial evidence shows older/newer combos used thru the end of the war. I am interested in finding out if the litzen was made in mouse gr...

Re: DIY REENACTMENT THINGS....
Our KG has been working on a 2,0cm Flak-Vierling to mount on back of a 1,5 t 1941 Ford....... Built from scratch, from welded 0.10" sheet. Some creative fabrication has been used, including cold forging (aka the BFH treatment, Big Freakin' Hammer). Oh, and it gets better........ We want to let...

Re: M42 german Overcoat
He does make a point about late war fit, although to point somthing out the great coat was supposed to be a close fit so it would look good on the parade ground,it was'nt untill you hit der feild that you realized the coat is too closely fitted (jam some stuff like socks ammo etc and watch how the c...

Re: M42 german Overcoat
Mein Gott, Shiek they cut off your hands
.The coat looks good, although It looks to be at least 2 sizes too large, They're supposed to be a fairly close fit( nice and spiffy on a parade ground especialy with emty pockets).

Re: a day in winters (comments please)
Overall nice kit,but like all of us we're on a mission to "finish out "our kit to perfection
, one question though, why the comment on the helmet? the smock I get (early issue, yada yada) but the helmet would have been rebuilt/painted and reissued right thru the war ! Dieter
